As West London Mental Health Trust prepared to roll out an update to RIO, they decided to help staff familiarise themselves with the changes ahead of time.
The first phase involved Course Source spending time onsite demonstrating how to capture each sequence of interactions. This meant breaking the workflow into a number of real-world scenarios that users would encounter throughout their day-to-day use of RIO, e.g "Search progress notes", "Add family member", "Upload document to case record", and so on.
Once all the scenarios had been recorded, Course Source tidied up each interaction and added tips and contextual instructions to aid learner progress. The main objective was to help users adjust to enhancements in the new version of RIO by developing new habits in an environment that didn't involve live data.
